About Us
What Civic Delaware Is
CivicDelaware.com is a project of Capitol Watch USA, LLC, and Dover Dash is a free tool on it. It was built on a simple idea: government should be easy to follow. We track what's happening in the Delaware General Assembly and explain it in plain English, so you don't have to read every bill yourself to know what's actually changing. We only use primary sources for our website. If you find an error, we encourage you to email us at info@civicdelaware.com.
What We've Built
Dover Dash — Legislative Bill Tracker. Matches Delaware General Assembly bills to the profiles that actually affect you — homeowner, renter, parent, retiree, small business owner, and more — so you can skip the hundreds of bills that don't apply to you and focus on the ones that do. Each summary is shown next to the bill's own official synopsis, sourced from the General Assembly's own site. Visit Dover Dash →
Tracking legislation is what we do full-time. Every now and then, we'll also put together something extra, like our 2026 election guide, when we think it'll genuinely help. Those aren't permanent fixtures, just things we build when it seems worth doing. See the current one →
Our Standards
- Nonpartisan. We don't endorse candidates or take positions on legislation.
- Sourced, not invented. Bill data comes directly from the Delaware General Assembly's own website. When we publish an election guide, candidate information comes from candidates' own campaign materials or official government sources. We don't make up facts.
- What's included. Dover Dash covers House and Senate bills, including substitute bills. Outside a legislative session it shows bills that have passed the General Assembly; during a session it also shows bills still moving, marked by their status. It doesn't include resolutions, such as those recognizing people or events or creating study groups.
- AI-written, and labeled that way. Bill nicknames, plain-English summaries, and the Helps You / Watch Out / Neutral labels are produced by AI following criteria written by Civic Delaware, and we audit them regularly and edit them as needed. Errors can still occur. Check the official bill text on legis.delaware.gov.
- Dates checked weekly. Dates come from the Delaware General Assembly's official website. We check them against each bill's official page every week, but on rare occasions the state's system updates a date after we've recorded it. If you are quoting a date, please confirm it on the official bill page linked with each bill.
- Verifiable. Summaries link back to the original source so you can check them yourself.
- Informational, not advice. Content here is meant to draw your attention to what may affect you. It isn't legal, tax, or financial advice — talk to a professional for guidance specific to your situation.
